The recently concluded DAVRAA Meet held in Mati City has stirred a lot of controversies after the tournament managers opted to choose players and even coaches who will play in the Palarong Pambansa 2008 in Palawan.
The joy of having defeated an opponent in an event has caused dismay contrary to what was expected since there were players who won gold in their event but were not qualified to represent region XI in the coming Palaro.
“They have not met the standards,” was the explanation of one of the tournament managers. Continue Reading »

Not only is he the fastest boy in the field setting a record in DAVRAA 2008 with 11. 82 seconds in the 100-meter run, Ramjay Carado from Buda NHS also showed that he could jump as he took the highest leap and grabbed gold medals in the long jump and triple jump in athletics secondary. Dioscoro Marqueza, the most experienced archer from team Davao City, trains hard and hopes to bring his team mates in Palarong Pambansa in Palawan.
Two-time Palaro player Marqueza hopes to get his share of glory in Palawan this year.
Davao City archers hail from A.L. Navarro NHS, known as the home of the champions and popular for producing the unbeatable archery team in the DAVRAA Meet. The Girls Team is coached by Mr. Randy Alonzo and Mr. Alex Manceras handles the Boys Team.
